Some steps, such as solving the cross on 3x3, is not algorithm based, so the program searches for potential cross solutions for you. The more solutions you look for, the longer the search will take, but the more likely it is to find the one you found. It searches optimally, and always searches from the current state. For example, if you found a 7 move cross, and type out the first 3 moves, it will search and find the next 4 moves, then suggest those as one of the suggestions.
